The short version
I'm Zeinab Kamara — an oncology nurse, with 20 years in clinical practice. I started in healthcare in 2006, became a nurse in 2014, and specialized in oncology in 2017. Across those two decades I've cared for people going through the hardest seasons of their lives, and learned what human bodies do under real pressure: not textbook pressure, but night shifts, grief, caregiving, and years that don't let up.
Then it happened to me. Between motherhood, shift work, and a life that didn't pause, my own health went through what I now call — precisely — a metabolic collapse. At my heaviest I weighed 105 kg. I wasn't uninformed; I was a nurse. I wasn't undisciplined; I was exhausted. Every plan I tried assumed a calm life I didn't have, and every collapse deepened the same quiet verdict most of my patients carry too: maybe the problem is me.
The problem was never the discipline. It was the order. You cannot out-discipline a capacity deficit that lives upstream of your discipline.
What changed
What finally worked wasn't a harder protocol. It was sequencing: remove the metabolic stress first, stabilize, and only then expand. That became the Metabolic Recovery Framework — and the whole approach this site teaches: capacity before consistency, health that scales to the day you're actually having, and zero shame in the restart.
Why you can trust what you read here
- Clinical training — 20 years in clinical practice, an oncology nurse since 2017. I read the studies, and I only cite what can be verified.
- Lived metabolic collapse — I'm not describing your situation from a distance. I've been in it, at 105 kg, on no sleep.
- Real life under pressure — everything I teach is tested in a loaded life, not a wellness retreat. If it doesn't survive a hard week, it doesn't get taught.
Two more commitments: when the evidence is only an association, I say "association," not "proof." And when something I said turns out to be wrong, I correct it in the open — that's what Integration & Discernment is for.
Where to start
The Start Here page gives you the map. If you want the heart of it in one line: health that only works when life is peaceful is not real health — and yours can be rebuilt without your life going quiet first.
